Data protection basics training

Data protection is a complex area of law, and a basic understanding of it is key for anyone with responsibilities in this area. What’s more, organisations are legally required to provide sufficient data protection training to their staff.

But when you’re new to data protection, it can be difficult to know where to start.

This training session is the ideal introduction to the world of data protection law and will give you all the information you need to thrive in your new role.

• The relevant legislation, key data protection terms and the regulator
• The data protection principles and lawful bases
• Individual data protection rights
• How to manage a personal data breach
• How to recognise, manage and respond to a Subject Access Request (SAR)
• Controller/processor relationships and knowing when an organisation may require a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA)

Timings

Registration will be from 9.00am including breakfast. The session will run from 9.30am until 12.30p.m including a short refreshment break and time for questions.
