International data transfers training

Data protection legislation is complex enough without adding international data transfers to the mix. So it’s important to understand how your organisation can take steps to ensure it is compliant and protects the personal data it shares outside the UK.

This training session is for those who regularly deal with contracts – in particular entering into contracts with organisations (either internal or external) based outside the UK.

Why attend?

The training will help you understand:

• Which countries have met the UK’s ‘adequacy regulations’
• The purpose of the EU/US Data Privacy Framework and UK’s extension to it (data bridge)
• Who is responsible for implementing the appropriate safeguards
• What appropriate safeguards should be put in place (for example international data transfer agreements/addendums or binding corporate rules)
• When to complete a transfer risk and/or data protection impact assessment

This training session will be helpful for anyone who manages international data transfers, including but not limited to:

• Data Protection Officers (DPOs)
• Data protection practitioners
• Data protection leads
• Data protection teams

This session would also be beneficial for anyone responsible for contracting within their organisation, such as contract managers.

Timings

Registration will be from 9.00am including breakfast. The session will run from 9.30am until 12.30p.m including a short refreshment break and time for questions.
