Call for evidence: generative artificial intelligence in education

Following its departmental statement in March 2023, the Department of Education (DfE) has opened a consultation for views from all within the education sector regarding the use of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the sector and the opportunities and risks it represents.

The use of AI is rapidly expanding and consultations such as this will pave the way for how DfE regulates its use in the future.

You may already have come across some generative AI tools such as:

1. ChatGPT
2. Google Bard
3. Claude
4. Midjourney

The consultation is open now and can be accessed via DfE's website.

Consultation closes 23 August 2023.
