Newton Aycliffe business fuels fleet on waste
Newton Aycliffe based food waste recycling specialist Warrens Group is now using four biomethane fuelled trucks as part of its fleet.
The trucks, which can be refuelled on site at its Newton Aycliffe facility, will operate six days a week. The new biogas fuelled vehicles can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 84% and the company has plans to convert all of its distribution operations to fossil-free sources by 2025.
Adam Warren, director of Warrens Group, said: "Sustainability is something we advocate to all organisations and communities, as we support their efforts to address the environmental issues caused by traditional methods of waste disposal.
“By powering our own fleet on the biogas it collects, we are demonstrating that when it comes to sustainability, we really do practice what we preach.”
