Teesside project to capture 1 million homes’ emissions

Teesside’s carbon capture, usage and storage (CCUS) project known as ‘Net Zero Teesside’, which could capture the equivalent of a million homes worth of carbon emissions, is holding public consultation events this month.

The project is supported by the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OCGI), a voluntary group comprising 13 leading companies operating in the energy sector and could potentially be the first commercial CCUS project in the UK. The project could see up to 4,000 direct and indirect jobs created during construction.
