Teesside to profit from east coast offshore wind project

The developers of the 860MW Triton Knoll offshore wind farm have announced Grimsby will be the base for the project, creating up to 170 jobs on the East coast and bringing significant work to Seaton Port on Teesside.

Offshore wind developers Innogy have signed a memorandum of understanding with Associated British Ports, and if honoured, Grimsby will host the longer term operations and maintenance work for the project.

Full scale pre-assembly and installation work for the 90 turbines (9.5MW) is to take place from Able UK’s Seaton Port, near Middlesbrough.
