UK’s OJEU replacement service confirmed
The government has confirmed that it has established a new e-notification service to replace the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) for UK contracting authorities advertising contracts and publishing e-notices for procurement of goods, services and works. The new service will be available from 1 January 2021.
From January, contracting authorities in the public and utilities sector will advertise contracts and provide information about contract awards, contract modifications and other procurement related matters using the UK “Find a Tender” service rather than the current OJEU service.
Contracting Authorities – what do you need to do?
At the moment, contracting authorities should continue to publish notices in OJEU as normal.
If you are registered on the current UK Contracts Finder service, then you will automatically have an account on the new Find a Tender service when it goes live, so if you are not already registered then we recommend that you do so now using this link.
If you use a procurement portal which includes an e-sending service, then you should enquire whether that service is preparing to be compatible with the Find a Tender service from January 2021.
There is no need to do this with the following eSenders who have already confirmed that they will be compatible:
- Adam
- ADB (UK) Limited
- Atamis Limited
- BiP Solutions
- European Dynamics
- EU Supply
- In-Tend Ltd
- Jaggaer
- Millstream Associates (part of Proactis)
- Proactis
- Sourcedogg
- Wax Digital
Bidders – what do you need to do?
Bidding entities should continue to search for opportunities using OJEU and Contracts Finder for now.
If you are not currently registered on Contracts Finder then you should create an account now using this link – it is likely that suppliers’ details will be migrated across to the new service when it goes live though this has yet to be confirmed.
UK specific and lower value contracting opportunities will continue to be advertised on the existing portals Contracts Finder, MOD Defence Contracts Online, Public Contracts Scotland, Sell2Wales and eTendersNI.
