Centring Lived Experience with Parkinson’s UK
Published: 4th Nov 2024
Gary Shaughnessy, chair of Parkinson’s UK, discusses the positive impact of placing the lived experiences of the people and families the charity supports at the centre of its leadership, decision-making and policy setting. Whilst Parkinson’s UK has incorporated this approach for a while, he comments on the importance of having an organisation that listens to the community's experiences and acts to answer and solve issues that matter to them.
In this month's episode, Gary joins Samantha Pritchard and Alison Jones to discuss the incredible physical challenges he’s taken part in to manage his condition and to raise awareness and funds for Parkinson’s UK and his role as chair at this charity.
