Muckle shortlisted at national awards for its community work

The British Chamber of Commerce has announced the shortlist for its annual business awards and we’re delighted to be shortlisted in the category of ‘Community Champion’ for our work supporting local North East charities.

The Chamber Business Awards is one of the showpiece events in the business calendar, recognising and promoting the best of British business through a series of regional heats – the winners of the national awards will be announced on Wednesday, 18th October.

Strong competition

After being named regional winners, we’ll be going up against strong competition from around the UK of fabulous charities, businesses and community projects that have made a significant impact in their region.

Community support

The award, which recognises organisations that facilitate, participate and enable community engagement, was given for our community work, including our grant giving through The Muckle Fund at The Community Foundation.

Every year, we give 1% of our annual profits to local charities and organisations who help in four key areas - supporting young people, overcoming disadvantage, improving social mobility and supporting causes close to the hearts of our people.
