Dealing in success – Muckle shortlisted 14 times at the Insider Dealmaker Awards 2023
We are delighted to announce that our corporate team and the deals we have worked on have secured 14 nominations across seven categories at the Insider North East Dealmakers Awards 2023.
Insider Media has published its list of shortlisted deals for the awards.
Corporate Law Firm of the Year
Firm-wide, it's great to be shortlisted for Corporate Law Firm of the Year, having won eight times previously.
Corporate Lawyer of the Year
We have two of our lawyers in the running for Corporate Lawyer of the Year – Stephanie Brown and Adam Rayner; which is great recognition for the work they have been doing in the last year.
Emerging Dealmaker of the Year
Congratulations to Sara Worsick, who has been shortlisted for Emerging Dealmaker of the Year for her ability to “innovate and create value” in a category that recognises individuals that have made a real impact during the period.
Deal of the Year £10m+
For Deal of the Year above £10m, three of our client’s deals have been nominated - the acquisition of West Country Food Holdings by Kitwave Group plc, the investment, placing and retail offer of Tekmar Group plc and the acquisition of Helston Garages Group by Vertu Motors plc.
Deal of the Year sub £10m
Two of our client’s deals in this category have been nominated, the acquisition of SDL Auctions’ online service by the iamproperty group and the acquisition of QA Weld Tech by Express Engineering.
Private/Venture Capital Deal of the Year
In the PE/VC Deal of the Year category, three projects we have worked on have made the list: Growth Partner investment into Additional Lengths, investment in Newcells Biotech by Northstar Ventures, Mercia & The North East Innovation Fund and Investment in Quanta by Foresight.
Bank Funded Deal of the Year
In this category, the MBO of PDQ, funded by NatWest and the funding of Dame Allan’s School building redevelopment by Lloyds Bank has been nominated.
Dealmaking excellence
This year’s winners – including Dealmaker of the Year, sponsored by Muckle LLP – will be announced at the annual North East Dealmaker’s Award Dinner, set to take place at the Hilton Hotel, Gateshead, on 28 September 2023, when the names of this year’s judges will also be revealed.
