Muckle lawyer appointed trustee for Eden Valley Hospice
Richard Nixon, partner in our real estate team, has taken on a new role at Carlisle-based Eden Valley Hospice.
Richard, who lives in Brampton, recently became a trustee for the charity, which gives free specialist care and support to adults with life-limiting conditions.
We have a long-standing relationship with Eden Valley and its children’s hospice Jigsaw and remain committed to supporting people and communities across the county of Cumbria.
We recently awarded the charity a £1,000 grant from our Muckle Fund at the Community Foundation towards it’s new initiative, Club 24, which provides businesses with the chance to fund 24 hours of vital, compassionate care to a local family at a time when they need it most.
Last summer, a 17-strong team of hikers from our firm raised over £12,500 for Jigsaw and Carlisle Youth Zone through the Lakes 3000 challenge.
Strengthening our support
Richard is a Legal 500 Recommended Lawyer in the top-tier Real Estate team and advises clients across Cumbria and the North East. He said: “I’m delighted to have been appointed as a trustee for Eden Valley and Jigsaw and to continue strengthening our commitment to this very important charity. Eden Valley and Jigsaw do some amazing work by providing specialist care for children, young people and adults with life-limiting conditions. Its people provide free care and support to patients and their families in North Cumbria.”
Julie Clayton, Chief Executive at Eden Valley Hospice, said: “We’re delighted that Richard has joined our Board of Trustees. His expertise in law and deep understanding of the charity sector make him a fantastic addition to our team, and we’re excited about the impact he’ll have in helping secure the future of Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw.
“Trusteeships are voluntary positions, and we’d like to thank Richard for his commitment to the hospice and for choosing to support us in this way. We’d also like to extend our thanks to Muckle LLP for its support of Club 24 and for their staff joining us recently on one of many corporate volunteering days at the hospice.”
