Muckle advises childcare provider on deal out of this world

Advisers from our corporate team have supported the owners of a regional childcare provider on its acquisition by a UK-based nursery group.

Leigh’s Nurseries, which has locations in Newcastle, Gateshead and Heddon-on-the-Wall, has been purchased by Kids Planet for an undisclosed sum.

The deal sees the three Leigh’s Nurseries sites join over 195 nurseries in the Kids Planet portfolio.

End of an era

The company was set up by Leigh and Paul Caven in 2004, who are stepping away from the business to spend time with their family.

Leigh and Paul said: “After nearly 20 years at Leigh’s Nurseries, we decided the time was right to spend more time with our family. We met Kids Planet and instantly there was a connection. We chose them as by far the best fit to move forward with our wonderful staff and home-from-home nurseries.
