Muckle LLP expands corporate team with new appointment

Solicitor Lucy Dougall has returned to the North East after joining our award-winning corporate team.

After starting her legal career with a firm on Teesside, Lucy moved to Sheffield, where she qualified. After working as a corporate solicitor for two years, Lucy left her previous firm to travel around Australia and Bali for two months before returning to her North-East roots.

She has joined our 27-strong corporate team here at Muckle, supporting eight partners and advising clients on a wide range of corporate law matters, including succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, reorganisations and listed company transactions.

Her appointment has strengthened the growing team, which won Insider North East’s Corporate Law Firm of the Year Award in 2024 and is consistently named as one of the top corporate teams in the region by Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners.

Lucy said: “I’ve always loved corporate law and helping clients with their transactions. I was attracted to Muckle by the reputation of the team and the quality of clients the team look after.

“I already love it at Muckle - it’s everything I hoped it would be. I really enjoyed my interview, as I felt at ease straight away. I got to hear all about the team, the firm, and its values, so from the moment I left the interview, I knew I really wanted to work here.”
