Muckle advise international business on important North East deal

Lawyers in our real estate team have advised Smulders Group NV on the acquisition of Hadrian Yard, in Newcastle Upon Tyne, for an undisclosed sum.

Smulders Group specialises in the engineering, construction, supply and assembly of steel constructions, and has bases in Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland as well as the UK.

Why this deal matters

Comprising 461,128 sq ft of industrial, warehouse and office space, the 75-acre site is currently used by Smulders Group’s subsidiary company Smulders Projects UK for the manufacture of jacket foundations for offshore wind turbines.

Lawyers from a variety of our legal teams have advised the international group since the business first leased the Hadrian Yard site four years ago, bringing hundreds of jobs back to the region.
