Muckle 'highly commended' for community work
We genuinely care about supporting our local community, so it was brilliant to be highly commended for 'outstanding charity support' at this year's North East Charity Awards.
We were one of just three finalists in the category, which recognises small-medium sized companies that 'go above and beyond to help raise funds and support charities or community groups in the region'.
Muckle cares
Judges were impressed by our CSR strategy, following another commitment to giving £30,000 to community projects via our Muckle Fund at the Community Foundation.
But we were pipped at the post by the Applebridge Family, who responded to the pandemic by raising £30,000 to supply meals to those who needed them. A very worthy winner!
Awards with a difference
It was the 6th time these annual awards have been held, and it was of course a little different this time.
This year's event, organised by ChronicleLive and TeessideLive, took place digitally, with the winners announced over social media.
Helen Dalby, from Reach PLC - the parent company of the event organisers - said: "It is more important than ever to celebrate the region's voluntary organisations.
"The pandemic has challenged charities more than ever but it has also shown how important they are and it is very obvious that everyone shortlisted is a winner and richly deserves recognition."
