Muckle supports coronavirus fund
We have donated £5,000 from our charitable Muckle Fund to support a special campaign, created by the Community Foundation, Tyne & Wear and Northumberland, to help communities cope with the impact of Covid-19.
How will it help?
Through its new Coronavirus Response and Recovery Fund, the Community Foundation and its partners will help local charities and community organisations across Tyne & Wear and Northumberland cope with the outbreak’s impact.
The 'Response' phase is about getting extra money to organisations that are supporting older people and other vulnerable groups.
And the 'Recovery' phase is about funding a wider group of local charities and community organisations whose operations and finances have been affected, so they can continue their activities once the outbreak eases.

Nic Leyden, Muckle HR director, said: “At the heart of our business is a caring spirit, and while it’s important to look after each other during these exceptional circumstances, we cannot forget about the communities around us that need our support.
“This is why we have chosen to make an exceptional contribution to support this essential fund.
“The Community Foundation Tyne & Wear and Northumberland plays a vital role in connecting businesses with charitable causes, and here they have created another excellent opportunity for organisations to support the region’s communities at such a crucial time of need.”

The Community Foundation has raised over £300,000 to support the region’s fight against coronavirus, but more funds are needed as the impact of the outbreak grows.
