Double award success for Muckle LLP at the North East Business Awards
We’re celebrating a double win at the North East Business Awards after being named ‘Best Place to Work’ and ‘Business of the Year’ in Northumberland & Tyneside.
The awards, which celebrate the North East’s best businesses, announced the winners of its regional heats today, with the winners from Northumberland & Tyneside, Durham, Sunderland & South Tyneside and Teesside set to go head-to-head at the Grand Final at Hardwick Hall on Tuesday 26th September 2023.
Best Place to Work
We’re proud to be consistently recognised as one of the region’s best places to work, with recent wins at the HR&D Awards (Excellence in Organisational & People Development) and North East Chamber of Commerce Inspiring Females (Most Inspiring Employer). Last year we were awarded the Investors in People (IIP) Platinum Award for our people-focused culture.
Also up for the overall Best Place to Work award are Voicentric Ltd (Durham, Sunderland & South Tyneside) and Big Bite (Teesside).
Business of the Year
This award recognises businesses that have performed exceptionally in commercial terms, innovation, impact or customer service. In 2022 we introduced our five-year plan aiming to be ‘Successful, forward-thinking and distinctive. Caring deeply about our people, clients and community’. Last year we posted record results in turnover and profit for the year ending March 2022, with a £14.3 million turnover representing 15% growth, with our people again benefiting from our employee profit-sharing scheme.
Wootzano Ltd (Durham, Sunderland & South Tyneside) and razorblue (Teesside) are also up for Business of the Year at the final.
People first culture
Jason Wainwright, managing partner, said: “These awards round off an incredible twelve months of recognition for our company, having been shortlisted for 18 awards and winning eight, including Community Business of the Year at the North East Chamber of Commerce Awards.
“Of course, you can’t win awards unless you’re surrounded by an exceptional team – and we have over 170 people in the company to thank for our success. Personally, I’m particularly proud that we’ve been named the Best Place to Work as we focus a lot of our efforts on trying to improve our colleagues’ mental and physical well-being and cultivating a strong sense of purpose.
“Good luck to all our fellow winners in the final!”
