10 years of Inspiring Careers

This week we celebrated 10 years of our Inspiring Careers programme as 8 promising North East students joined us for a week of work experience.

Inspiring Careers was launched in 2012 with the aim of encouraging young people from a variety of backgrounds to consider a career in law. The week-long programme allows the students to get a taste of what it’s like to work in a law firm and gain valuable work experience that will help with their future careers.

As well as finding out what it’s like to be a commercial lawyer, the students spend time with our HR, finance, business development, IT and client service teams.

Nicola Leyden, Director of HR at Muckle LLP said: “The work we do through our Inspiring Careers programme is something I’m really proud of and everyone in the firm looks forward to working with the students each year.

“As a firm, we are committed to the region and creating opportunities to train and retain local talent. We hope that by giving young people an understanding of what happens behind the scenes of a law firm and the different career paths available, they’re inspired to consider a career in law.”
