About Charlotte
Charlotte heads up our Real Estates Disputes Resolution team. Legal 500 UK rank her nationally as a ‘Leading Individual’ and describe her as 'superb.'
She is a property disputes specialist and the trusted advisor to many regional and national clients on residential and commercial property matters, from Housing Associations and institutional private landlords to well-known High Street retailers. She advises on operational tenancy management issues, both residential and commercial, including cladding remediation work and other land issues such as restrictive covenants and easements.
Charlotte McMurchie is our main point of contact and is easy to talk things through with and bounce ideas off. She is always available when we need her and makes sure that she gives us the time that we need working things out with her.

Charlotte was until September 2022 the Chair of Tyne Housing Association. She remains a Board member of Prosper, a social housing procurement company, and a founding Board member of WISH NE, a networking organisation for women in social housing (WISH).

Charlotte has been working in this sector for the majority of her lengthy career. She has a long-standing relationship with one of the largest UK PRS providers Grainger PLC and is the trusted advisor in respect of their Rent Act regulated portfolio of properties. Charlotte has been described by Legal 500 UK as “.the star of this department. She is pragmatic, steady, insightful and wise” having “ a great combination of expertise with a commercial and clear approach to property litigation”, as well as being “known for her sensible practical advice and sound commercial focus.” Charlotte’s knowledge of both commercial and residential property means that when it comes to mixed tenure issues her advice is invaluable. She regularly advises landlord and tenant clients on lease termination issues, dilapidations and the exercise of break notices and their ramifications.
