About Robin
Robin is a commercial lawyer with extensive experience advising on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters. His clients include organisations and business partners in the public and private sectors.
Recognised as a ‘Recommended Lawyer’ by independent directory Legal 500 UK, Robin is known for his ability to manage complex projects. He works closely with clients, their teams and advisors to provide innovative legal solutions, regularly advising on terms and conditions for the supply of goods and services, distribution and agency agreements, technology licences, competition law in the context of commercial agreements (including the application of the vertical agreements block exemption), joint venture and collaboration agreements and general trading agreements.

Robin heads up our specialist manufacturing team and is widely recognised for his sector expertise. With a wealth of experience of advising regional, national and international clients in this sector, he has a deep understanding of the specific legal challenges faced in the manufacturing industry.
He works with some of the industry’s biggest names including Thomas Swan, who he recently advised on a complex Canadian joint venture and heads of terms for an international chemical supply agreement.
Robin regularly supports on a range of issues including supplier and customer contracts, regulation and corporate governance and restructuring.

Robin has spent his career advising a range of public bodies on public procurement issues, including choice of procedure, preparing PQQs, SQQs, ITTs and notices. He has dealt with bid clarification and time extensions, scoring and evaluation, and contract award and standstill. Robin has also advised on sub-threshold procurements and has helped write clients’ internal procurement policies. He has advised grant recipients on the state aid aspects of grant funding and advised other bodies on the state aid implications of public body loans.

Robin acts for academy trusts, independent schools and colleges and universities on commercial transactions, advising on constitutional and governance matters, charity and corporate structures and public procurement. He has advised on numerous academy conversions and transfers as well as providing ongoing commercial legal support to academy trusts. Robin works closely with many of the firm’s Further Education and Higher Education clients.
Robin acts for various clients in the energy sector or clients involved in energy-related projects, including energy brokers and, more recently, a green energy producer. He has also advised several clients on commercial agreements as part of wider energy projects, including power purchase agreements in the context of a long term solar panel lease project, a corporate power purchase agreement and a power purchase agreement and connection arrangements in relation to a hydrogen generation project.
He works closely with other members of the energy team, and especially Libbie Henderson on energy projects.
